Science and Research

During the final stage of discussions on the National Sustainable Development Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2013-2017, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Almazbek Atambayev, expressed gratitude to all participants and particularly acknowledged the valuable recommendations provided by experts from UNDP and the SRU "Kyrgyz Economic University named after M. Ryskulbekov".

The main goal of the university’s development is the organic integration of education and research activities, ensuring the training of specialists in line with market economy demands, based on the latest achievements in information technology and the innovative economy. The university’s scientific activities focus on the theoretical, methodological, and applied aspects of economic sectors within the framework of integration processes.

The university's main research topic for 2009-2014 was "Problems of Development and Competitiveness Enhancement in the Economic Sectors of Kyrgyzstan", engaging faculty members, doctoral students, postgraduate students, and master's students.

Their scientific research has been applied across various economic sectors and continues to be implemented. The goal of these studies is to explore mechanisms of economic growth and analyze existing practices while formulating recommendations for improving the country’s economic sectors.

In 2015, by presidential decree, the year was declared the Year of Strengthening the National Economy. The university published a collection of scientific works titled "National Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic: Problems and Prospects for Development", edited by Professor T.K. Kamchybekov, covering a broad range of economic research topics.

Participation in Scientific Conferences

The university's faculty actively participates in national, international, and inter-university scientific conferences and seminars, both within and outside Kyrgyzstan. Over the past five years, they have presented more than 1,200 research papers, including 560 at international conferences.

Dissertation Council and Postgraduate Studies

For over 15 years, the university has operated an Interdepartmental Dissertation Council for defending doctoral and candidate dissertations. The Dissertation Council was established at KEU by Order No. 20 of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic on March 1, 2011.

Between 2012 and 2014, the university conducted 29 dissertation council meetings, where:

As of January 1, 2015, KEU’s postgraduate program had 38 students, including:

Since the program’s inception, 158 students have graduated, with 39 successfully defending dissertations in Economics and Management, and 17 in Accounting and Auditing. Among independent researchers, 56 have successfully defended their dissertations.

Research Institute of Innovative Economy

KEU’s Research Institute of Innovative Economy has conducted several scientific research projects in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic.
