Educational and Methodical Work
The department offers courses in subjects such as philosophy, the history of Kyrgyzstan (national history), psychology and pedagogy, commercial psychology, business relationship psychology, human needs, business psychology, and critical thinking. These courses not only help form the worldview of a modern person but also provide the necessary additional knowledge for high-qualified specialists in the economic field.
In 2011-2012, A.S. Begalieva published textbooks for students of tourism universities, which were recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic: "Historical and Cultural Heritage in Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic" and "Religious Tourism in the Kyrgyz Republic." In 2015, Senior Lecturer A.K. Alymova defended her candidate dissertation on the topic "Culture and Everyday Life of the Peoples of Central Asia in the Materials of K.G. Mannerheim's Expedition."
Research Work
From the early years, the department chose the research theme "Transformation of Modern Kyrgyz Society" under the leadership of G.A. Bakieva.
This theme allows for the combination of various aspects of scientific work across all branches of social and humanitarian sciences, as the department includes philosophers, historians, and psychologists. Young teachers, under the guidance of Gulnara Abduvasiitovna, organized a student debate club called "Daanaker," where current issues of modern society were discussed.
The department serves as an external organization where the dissertation defenses of Ph.D. candidates and applicants from the Institute of Philosophy and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic are held. The department also conducts entrance exams in philosophy for graduate students at the Kyrgyz Economic University and candidate minimums in philosophy.
International Relations
The department has external connections with the Department of Sociology at St. Petersburg State University, the University of Washington (USA), the Faculty of Philosophy at Lomonosov Moscow State University, and the Department of Social and Humanitarian Sciences at Ural State Law University.
The department received international recognition for the publication of the monograph "Social Memory and Modernity" by Doctor of Philosophy G.A. Bakieva, published in English by the University of Washington.
